took my remaining bottles of the Garys', Rancho Onteveros, and Broussard for lunch today with BRW and the mighty CorkDork. No reason to hold any of these outstanding bottles as there as good as they can get. The order of preference of all of the boozers at the bar is in the order they are listed above. The Garys' was oalmost silky for a Loring, The Ontveros was prevantly heafty with the muscle of the hulk but the Broussard had balance, heft, and killer mouthfeel and finish. All were emminetly drinkable and if we weren't havin' so derned much fun I coulda' given more attention to the nuances of the induividual bottlings. All would be in the outstanding area. WW

So..., I got a spring mailer from Loring and want to order a couple of the 05 Pepe's and perhaps a Russel Family, is it safe to assume I'd be best to set them aside for a few years prior to corking if I can get them? WP

Oh, you can get them if you don't hesitate. Actually you can drink them anytime after you get them. When young you really have to splash decant to aerate them enough. However, I think they really shine after at least three years. WW's five years is almost pushing the edge.
