A gorgeous wime in a gorgeous package. Clear brilliant ruby. Nose of red fruits, earth, and spice with a hint of barnyard. On the palate all come across along with just a hint of grated lemon peel. Big entry, weighty center, and a solid 4-lapper finish. Still some fine-grained tannins to resolve in the next 1-2 but very enjoyable now. 90/88. 42 on sale. 14,5% alc. Could probably sell for 6-10 less with more conventional packaging. WW

I had a ZD Carneros Pinot Noir several years ago that I thought stood out at the Pinehurst Wine Festival. I have tried several vintages since then with disappointing results. Will see if I can find any 2002.

Had another bottle with dinner last nite. Nose evolving nicely. Lots more of the deep ripe strawberry element than before. Tannins seem to be regressing also. No change in scoring. WW

Another with lunch of wild King Salmon fixed Cajun Style today. Has evolved more in the nose and more depth of flavors. A really stylish wine that needs 1-2 more to get there. No change yert in scoring. WW

Another with fresh Copper River Salmon today and can say this is a killer work in progress. Nose has expanded to include more of a sweet ginger/cinnamon element and the straw/raspberry notes are pronounced. All hit the palate and the finish has also hit the 4+ lapper area. Take this baby up to a solid 91. WW

DA, Have fun next week. If you are driving in from the South up Silverado Trail, it will be on your left hand side and easy to see (just a bit sunken in). If you are coming in from the North, it might be easy to miss. Watch for the signs!

Had a bottle with Herbed Chicken breast with yesterdays' lunch. Seems to be at or very near TTTOIG. A very solid, enjoyable bottle that has held up beautifully. Should probably hold at this level for 2-5. Good juice. WW
