03 did not seem like a long time ago and I recall still the roar about the high alcohol levels of that vintage. And yet reading back from Jancis Robinson, the specific alcohol levels were something like 13% for merlot and high 12's for cab. The highest alcohol level was a predominantly Cab Franc wine at 15 percent. I thought for all the ruckus, it was higher than that but my memory is not what it use to be.

The 2010's are coming in in higher than this with man wines apparently reaching and exceeding 15%.........where's the ruckus.....must be the economic indicators that are balancing out the alcohol level......
