I know, this sucker's 'way too young, but it was my b-day yesterday and I wanted BEEF! Since annual physical was this AM, deferred on the NY strip and wine until tonight (settled for a '90 white Bordeaux last night with chicken.... will retrieve the bottle and post notes.... only so-so anyway.)

This lil beaut is very nice indeed! Inky black in the glass, hits yer schnoz with its nose, and velvet-smooth on the tongue. Long, long finish. Can only get better. Not cheap at $84.99 Costco price but worth it. 13% alc/vol, WS95 and a "collectible" in WS assessment. Have to agree.

Many happy returns. (I've purchased some Leoville Poyferre and I think two bottles of Leoville Barton but have not sprung for the las Cases yet. Maybe someday.)

Thankee folks.
The wine was too young, of course - and the beef lacked flavor, in spite of grilling it the usual way. It was from Costco, and theirs is usually pretty good.
Need to find a nearby source of grass-fed.

Belated birthday wishes. We prefer cows that are fed with corn. Granted it is less humane.

There once was a man named Gil

Who feared he was over the hill

He asked his wife

about his plight

"Don't worry, just take your pill"
