and featured 2000 Bordeaqux. The fearsome foursome were Bernadotte, Frombauge, Sargent de Grauaud Larose and Lagrange. At the table was BRW, Cork Dork, and me buds Mike C. Along with the staff we poured in the reverse order as posted above. As a note to IK...The Lagrange still needs another 4-6 to start warbling. The Sargent is about 2-4 away, as are the other 2 but they are all absolutely stunning bottles and all should be in the 90 class. They whole group agreed that they needed to look more closely at Bordeaux during those special years. WW

WW, I bought a lot of 00 Bordeaux. I was only a few years into collecting at the time (~5 years ago), but the vintage had so many folks raving about it that I decided to sock a few cases away. I was not drinking a lot of Bordeaux at the time but figured it would be a safe bet.

Needless to say, I have been sampling some of that wine over the last six months and it has lead me to buying almost exclusively 05 Bordeaux over the past several months.

My palate has evolved to the point where sublety and complexity far outweigh the Cali fruit bombs that turn to goop in the cellar. Further, I can barely take the tannic structure of new wines as I am getting so acclimated to drinking aged Bordeax, Rhones, Cali, etc.

Funny how your palate evolves.

I had the 00 Bernadotte a few months ago and agree that it needs a few years, but it was still wonderful.

Oos' sorry it's taken me so long to find your post. Besides the memory and hearing I guess I'll have to put the eyes in as the 4th thing to go. I've found my tsste has evolved over the years also to the appreciation of aged wine. Done' care whether it's Cali, Bord, Iti, Spain or what ever, love the araomatics of aged juice along with the complexities only time can produce. That said, nothings wrong with an exhuberant young Zin ebber now and thin. WW
