Contrary to what has been my previous experience, this '82 holds up rather nicely, although it is beginning to show strains.

The interesting thing: tasted blind, among a bunch of wine pros, the consensus was that the wine was either a ten-year old Rhone or possibly Australian Shiraz. That is the second time in one month an '82 Bordeaux has fooled the group.

Foodie and CCK, The 82 Cos has been a super bottle and one my favorite 82s` from St.Estephe. Early on this was a super-powerful , thick, richly textured wine. My first tasting note on the wine was 7/87. I decanted the wine , poured a glass and took a sip. Let it air for 1 1/2 hours and it really came into focus. No Sign of ageing.Opaque, dark-ruby. My last tasting note was 11/99. Really elegant with great depth and an inner-core of jammy, vibrant black-fruits. Tannins completely in harmony.A lush, rich, cabernet that has ,or very soon will peak. I didn`t notice any resemblance to Rhone or Shiraz styled juice. The St. Estephes` from 82 are big bold critters. Kinda like Diamond Creeks. Oh weel, the taste buds are the 4th thing to go.
