I received a bottle of 1995 Chateau Montroc Appellation Lussac Saint-Emilion from a friend. How long should this wine age for? About how much would it sell for (.75 Liters)?

Your wine is a Merlot based wine, and will thus be approachable sooner than a Cabernet Sauvignon based wine. You can drink it any time over the next ten years. Single bottles of less than 1.5 liters seldom do well at auction unless it is a real barn burner, which yours, though very good, isn't.

To this I would say that you can drink your wine anytime over the next twenty years. As Mr. Parker would say, who has the patience to wait so long to drink good wine? Well, I might. Say you want to drink this wine, or another 1995 St. Emilion(say that Ausone someone gave you), when your 1995-born child turns 21. Why not wait? For chrissakes, it's Bordeaux, after all....

One more thing--drink it this instant before you toy with the idea of selling it. Innkeeper is correct in noting that this single bottle is not the kind of commodity you retire on. Sell your condo or your car; save and sip your wine.
