Another great 2nd label I focused on in this vintage. Pichon-Barons 2nd this lives up to it's famous heritage. Deep ruby, cassis, cedar, tar, black fruits, and a touch of vanilla all wrapped in a formidable tannin slipcover. Heavyweight center and a long 4-lapper finish makes this another contender for P/Q champ of the vintage. 90/93. 13.99 by the box en premieur. WW

That is an incredible buy. I wish I knew about wine back then so that I could have purchased the 2000's by futures..back then was still slugging beer. Sounded like a very nice bottle WW.

Had another for lunch yesterday. The nose has really come on. The floral aspect has been replaced by saddle leather, some graphite and black plums and cherries. All come over on the palate and leave a memoraable taste on the ole' tongue that makes a smile mandantory. Almost up a point but keep it at 91. Still some time to go. Give it 1-3 for maturity. WW

This hummer be motoring along like a Ferrari on the autobahn. Nose still developing and the intensity on the finish is really hitting on all cylinders. You can now take this bugger up to a solid 92. WW
