BRW and myself were joined yesterday by an old friend from Denver who I helpto get in the wine distribution business "Dangerous Dan". One of the bottles popped from my cellar was a Marquis de Caceras Guadium. Lovely nose of earth flowers and exotic spices. This was a delightful Rioja but the star was a 95 Ch. Lafon Rochet St Estephe. Powerful Cab nose with all the right stuff...Deep Ruby. No rim. Black and red fruits with racy spices and a vanilla note. Solid entry, weighty center and a solid 4+ lapper finish. This is a killer bottling from this 4th growth. Still has some fine-grained tannins but about at its peak. At least a 91. Think I paid 21-24 on futures
13% alc. WW
