Two tasted at the shop

Tasted a bunch o' Burgs at the shop the other day, and here are the two whites I liked the best. The first was the 2007 Merlin Bourgogne, This was labelled Chardonnay, and is one of a growing list of French producers who are putting the grape variety on the label rather than just the region. Anyway, this was a very pleasant Chard, not at all trying to emulate one from CA. 13%ABV - retail about $14 to $16.
Next up is the 2009 Verget Macon-Villages. Very correct Bourgogne Blanc, apple and yeasty dough on the nose; nicely dry with apple and a hint of spice in the mouth. 13% ABV - about $16.

Again, we tasted quite a few (there were 11 IIRC) and these were the two I would choose for quality and price.
