I have no pulse on the value of older Spanish wines, but I do know that the Vina Real is a really nice product.

Hernandez, you can't get rich on them, why not open them and enjoy--or at the very least send me some to evaluate for you.

Hernandez, Foodie, Winecollector........

Why don't we just all get together and have a party!

I am learning here so bear with me please:

vina real - royal wine
gran reserva - at least "in barricas" for two years, in bottle for at least three years and must be only from particularly good vintages.

But whence cometh the wine? Any particular "denominacion de origen" or "denominacion de origen calificada"?

If memory serves me--and it should, since I am younger than either Innkeeper or Bucko--Vina Real is Rioja. But then, to be safe, I shall hedge and say, it could possibly be Penedes. I have neither had nor seen a bottle of the stuff in a long time, which is why I'll gladly empty those few that Hernandez has.
