Not much of a dry white drinker, especially those with strong oak, but really like Mer Soleil. However in this area MS is outside or weekly wine budget. Any respectable wines in a similar vein that run around the $20 mark?

Carl, have you tasted the MS? I was going to suggest cutting out the middleman and just chewing on lumber. Toad Hollow is almost Chablis (the real thing!) by comparison...

Haven't tasted the MS, but thought he would like the Toad Hollow as it is woodless, but has been maled.
