This is a solid bottle, great nose, good smooth texture, good acidity for the vintage and nicely put together. Good balance but not a knock your socks off bottle. Perhaps more advanced than excepted as teh cork was mostly soaked 90% up to the top.

I've had some nice Verget white Burgundies in the past but haven't seen them around since Carolina Wine Company went out of business.

They closed down way back in January, 2009, but I think they actually filed for bankruptcy protection in March. Interestingly, there's a distributor here in MA called Carolina Wine, but there's no connection that I know of.

Thanks KC! I was hoping Charles would be okay. I saw him a few months ago and he seemed to be doing well.

Probably no connection. Carolina Wine Company, based in Raleigh, was owned by Chrish Peel and his wife.

Pulled out what I thought would be a good bet and I was not disappointed. No change in notes and much appreciated by all.
