Remoissenet Bien Batard Montrachet 2005

I managed to pick up a few cases of the Bien Batard and the Puligny Montrachet. Its not easy finding information about the Bien Batard cause its just not wide-spread available. Chilled it down, but not too much cause I wanted to see the real deal. This is a gem. Creamy, dense and very elegant in style. No overbearing fruit and well balanced with a polished finish that lingered just the right amount. Designed IMHO to be consumed not too chilly. This was unlike any white burgundy I have ever had. Didn't really understand what I was consuming as I got it at highway robbery pricing so I was flabbergasted at the pinnacle achievement which I consumed with tuna tartar and brie.

Sounds great PW. I've never even heard of Bien Batard. Must have been "good" just from the name alone [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img] should be better than the Ne Pas Bien Batard next door [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img]

Bien Batard is a Grand Cru Montrachet as is Chevalier Montrachet. I've been able to taste several vintages of Le Montrachet (including I believe from Remoissenet) but I'm not sure I've ever tried the other Montrachet Grand Crus. The first Montrachet I ever tasted was a revelation to me as to what Chardonnay can be in the best locations.
