Just got back from a trade tasting focused mainly on Cab Sauv, though there were many other wines. The stars of the show were all from the 2004 vintage from CA and Australia. In the order tasted, they were Soverain Winemaker's Reserve, Ch. St. Jean Cinc Cepage, Penfolds Bin 389, Wynn's Coonawarra Estate, Penfolds Bin 707, St. Clement Oroppas, Stag's Leap "The Leap", Beringer Private Reserve and Etude Napa Valley. We have a term we use in the shop for really great wines we've tasted - FA!! The A stands for awesome.
