Stunning bottle. Packaged as well as it's made. Think I may have posted on the 97 version of this but maybe not. Medium deep ruby. Nose of violets, cinnamon, high red fruits, and a scoch of vanilla. Seductive and sensuous, the style of this wine is more Bordelais than Calif. Silky entry, medium cemter and a fab 4+-lapper finish.
Still has some soft tannins to resolve. Killer juice. 92/90. 55 by the box. 13.5% alc. WW

August Briggs Winery is one of the possibiltiies for a wine dinner at the Charlotte Wine and Food Festival next spring. I'm trying decide which winery dinner to book. Have you tried other wines from there WW?
P.S. The Caymus and one other dinner are by invitation only (probably corporate affairs sponsored by the big banks).

WOW This is the only varietaal I've seen from Briggs but this is one finely made bottle. He may make other wines but you know how my tunnel vision works. WW

We loved our visit to August Briggs last summer, tasting several noteworthy wines, including the Pinot Noir, the Cab, the Zin, and the Pinot Meunier. However, the standout, and one of the best wines I've ever had, was their Charbono. Staggeringly good juice.

Sort of a coincidence that you posted this note, as my August Briggs wine club shipment arrived today. Included was the '06 Pinot Noir, the '06 Meunier, and the '06 Zin. Will look forward to one and all!
