1996 St. Supery, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, $18, 16,870 cases produced. Blackberries and minerals on the nose carry over to the palate, with minimal new oak treatment (17% new oak). This tasty, well-balanced wine, is approachable now, with smooth tannins. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Very good value. This is the first Cabernet produced for St. Supery by Australian winemaker Michael Scholz. Are the Ozzies taking over?
