Thanks for the link. I am now a shade of green that should make me very popular come St. Patrick's Day. Sounds like a wonderful evening!

Have to agree on most of the scores of Newsie but IMHO I'd add the Pride in a tie for WOTN. WW

thanks DA.

WW: i wish i woulda tasted the pride and the shafer side by side. finished the pride off sunday night with a room service steak. was killer. drank another glass of the shafer at the wine cellar in the rio on monday evening to finish off my tasting note. it was spectacular at that point. and if you can believe this, finished the last glass of the shafer *tuesday* night with a N.Y. strip from my own grill. it was only at this point that the shafer had started downhill -- four full days later and no vacuvin or private preserve. just an old cork stuck back in the bottle. i think its longevity prolly convinced me to give this the edge. but side by side on night one, the pride might have done it for me. hmm, i've never scored wines three days apart before yet they were part of the same tasting. guess i won't be doing that again. live and learn.

i think as far numerical scores, i gave the pride a 93+ and the shafer a 94+. i'll check and post those too, since that's how i score 'em here.

I'm not surprised about the Shafers' longivity. The fruit was absolutely awesome. What did you think of the Cafaro and the Silver Oak? I'm a fan of Cafaros' juice. We did manage to suck down alla' the Pride with dinner.( New wheels are being installed today. Giggle, snort.)WW
