($19.99; 14.4 %). very dark garnet, nearly opaque. very good intial nose of black cherry and chocolate, with hints of plum, vanilla, olive and earth. excellent flavors of chocolate and cherry, with vanilla and sweet oak on the lengthy finish. medium mouthfeel, great balance, silky tannins. over time, coffee aromas and flavors join the mix. an outstanding wine that is drinking great now. best through '08. 91 points.

Sounds good if I can find it. (May be off the retail shelves in most places.)

yes, WOW, it is quite good. but i'm afraid that if you don't already have some of this stashed away, you aren't going to be finding any on the shelves anywhere. they only made a few thousand cases of this, and it sold out FAST from my regular shop. right after they got 10 cases, the WS review came out (think they scored it a 92 or so) and the shop's entire stock was gone in two days.

I've tried their "00" and it's great stuff, in fact it's the only 00 cab I've purchased in bulk! $11.99 on sale in Nov 04. I mostly skipped Cabs from the 2000 vintage as most I've tried were very green, however the Alexander Valley ones seemed a bit more ripe.

Thanks for the tip T.O. I've purchased a couple 2001 Cabernet Sauvignons and may look for the current release from Sebastiani.
