This underappreciated and solid performer made IMHO their best ever cab in 94. Dark ruby, with a nose that lets you know that there's lots of stuffin' inside. Dark berry fruits, sweet spicy cinnamon, and a tinge of cocoa all come thru on the palate. Good entry, a nice center mouthfeel, and a good finish. This is all surrounded by some tannins that'll take another 2-5 to shed. A really nice P/Q Napa Carneros Cab. Had a bottle of the 95 Reserve nite before last and it 'haint nowhere near ready. WW

Opened a bottle for luinch yesterday and it sure smoothed over my labors. This lovely is, or is very close to its' zenith. Penetrating nose of flowers, black plums and cherries, and sweet spice. All come over on the palate along with just a hint of leather. This north Carneros property is producing some of the best P/Q wines coming from mighty Napa IMHO. Silky entry, weighty center and a 4&1/2 lapper finish. Superior juice. 91/95. 22 by the box. 13.5% alc. WW

Was it the '94 or the '95?
