Everything did double duty last night. Had one daughter, her hubby and a pair of wine drinkin' friends over to help me bemember what that dark ruby stuff in the glass be. Seing as I was leaving Tuesday, also made ir a bye-bye party. All was finger food. Grilled some New York stips and cur them up, had Cougar Gold, some St. Andre and Laura Chenels' marvelous aged goat cheese in EVOO. The Monty was apaque-purple with no varience at the rim. Gobs of Black fruits, cassis, and all-spice. The glycerin is amazing. Clinging to the side of the glass like Bucko does his wallet when the check arrives. A genuine 5-lapper finish, This bottle is definately in the classic category and still has at least another 3-5 to fully develop.
95/94(based on the 40 issue price) The 94 Dalle Valle Napa Was equally impressive. Laods of sweet fruit jump from the glass and the tremendous clarity of the powerful juice intensifies as it evolves. The tannins are slightly more evident than in the Monty but not intrusive. Another wine destined for classic status given another 3-5 years. The finish just falls short of the legendary 5-lapper, make it 4-3/4. 93/92 ( based on the 44 issue price ) WW (Opened some other stuff but by then the weener was ready for nite-nite.)

Sounds nice WW. That's how to rebound from a sabbatical!
