Sterling Vintner's Collection Cabernet

2001 Sterling, Vintner's Collection, Central Coast, Cabernet Sauvignon ($10 NH State Liquor Store). This was the first of Sterling's journeyman line that we've popped. Very respectable. In fact, I would call it a standout at this price point. Has noticible varietal character albeit without a lot of depth. Blackberries on the nose and upfront, rich, full bodied, and smooth across the palate, and a respectable finish. An ideal hamburger wine, which is exactly how we used it.
