Had these 2 lovelies at lunch yesterday celebrating the return of Mikey from gall bladder surgery along with 3 Sta Rita Hills pinots posted in the thingie below. Steve W, his gorgus CB, his auditor and Brent (a good friend who's just started joining us) made up the welcoming committee. These were served last but not least. 2 stars of the great 97 vintage frum what I bemember they are doing the aria from "Sound of Music" rite now. Both were spectacular and not a drop was left in either bottle. As usual at these gatherings there was more fibe being told than observance of the juice but both are very close to classic. The Saddle is from the estate of one of my close friends and great winemaker Niles Venge. WW

If Venge is such a close friend, why did you misspell his name? It's Nils, isn't it?

Also, did you get that Plumpjack with a cork or with a Stelvin?
