1997 Glass Mountain Quarry, California, Cabernet Sauvignon ($11). Another thing on the label is: Paterno Imports Ltd, Exclusive U.S. Marketing Agents. When we examined this in a local wine store, the prop said the wines were very popular. They had this one and a '98 Merlot. Thinking that the cab would be a better bet than the merlot we went with it. It is "cellered and bottled" by Markham Vineyards, St Helena, CA. When first looking at the bottle, thought it might be a second bottling from Markham.

Regardless of all this, it was definitely a California Cab and not a Chilian. It was a refreshingly light cab that went well with a grillpanned strip steak, and would buy it again. Has anybody else had any experiance with this brand or wine?

Glass Mountain is a regular pour in one of our haunts. Not too crazy about it...like you report, it's a little thin but nice enough for the price.
