I am looking for a good port to compliment coffee and chocolates preferably from Portugal or Germany?

Port from Germany? Have to think hard about that.

As for coffee, chocolate and port: I prefer my port with sharp, moldy cheese or certain nuts. I find coffee gets in the way of most any wine and chocolate, when it does pair with wine, seems to pair best with certain dry reds.

Having said all the above, I like Niepoort products, and they have a wide range of ports from dry vintage, to late bottle vintaged, to tawny, and on.

Of course, there are scores of other good ports out there.

I knew it - Foodie and I were separated at birth! I love Niespoort wines, especially the Tawny Port & LBV. Plus, in today's crazy wine world, they are CHEAP.

Bucko,

I once had the pleasure of representing Niepoort when I was a wine salesman; that is when I fell in love with their products, and their prices. Alas, whomever took over my job isn't selling much of it in my neighborhood, and I am starved for the LBV 1994, which I think is the bargain of the century.

I hear they produce a white port but do not ship it here. Know anything about it? Maybe this should be in the port forum!

If you want to give California a try...check out Quady Starboard or Ficklin

Niepoort 83 colhieta & lbv 94' are sensational! as for coffee (?) & chocolates(!), how about a Banyules????
White port from Neipoort? Stacole - located in Boca Raton Fl. is a direct importer, give them a call - they have good stock on all available Niepoort products.

We certainly agree on the Niepoort 94 LBV.

As for Boca Florida, I am in New York; don't think the importer can do much for me. I know who distributes it in NY, but they do not have white port.
