1997 Chappellet Signature

One of my 10 favorite vineyards yearly Donn made a beautifully crafted Cab from his beautiful Pritchard Hill vineyards. I actually rhor I'd pulled the 94 but had both in the same diamond so didn't discover my bone-head till it was opened. Decanted to get some air-time on the sucker as his wines need ageing to become civilized. Set my drinking time back a full hour but was worth the wait. Typivcal restrained nose, brite red cherry color, and a slight jolt on the 1st taste. Tannins and acidity are at first dominate but as the evening progressed this hummer started lighting up the ole' fireplace. Needs another 4-7 to really hit its' stride but destined to be another outstanding effort from this great property. His 75 was on my " Best I Ever " for many years. 90/92. 30 by the box. ww [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/biggrin.gif[/img]
