Having friends over for lasagna. I am new to the world of wines, so I need some help in choosing a good, but inexpensive table wine for the meal. I do not like strong tasting wines. I prefer a light, delicate taste. I live in a small town, so I would appreciate several choices, so that I may have a better chance of finding what I need in the stores available here.

I assume you'll be using a red tomatoe-based sauce, with or without ground beef. A Barbera goes well with that kind of sauce. I prefer those from Alba in Italy, but one from Asti would work well, too. Costco in this area has the Marchesi de Barolo "Ruvei" Barbera d'Alba for $10.99, a wonderful bargain. I bought three cases back in Feb; had one last night with pizza. If you can't find a Barbera, look for a Chianti Classico.

Good luck. Serving temperature of 65F works well with the Ruvei.
