Been an advocate since the mid-80s' of buying the 2nd tier of the Napa big boys stuff since tasting a 78 Heitz Napa with some whiskers on it. This wine put an exclamation point to the premise. Brite ruby. Cassis, red fruits with a touch of spice, and cocoa. Good entry and center and a surprisingly nice finish. Just short of outstaanding but a welcome to any cellar.WW 88/91. 15 by the box.
