Ran the table on the 95 Craigs yesterday. Rhe Affinity, as usual, was polished, seamless, and about as much like a bordeaux as Napa wines get without a visa from the French Embassy.Seems the Cab Franc is really shining in this vintage and the cab has a lot to say in the extremely long finish. Side-by it's apparent even to a jaded tongue as ole wws' that the Mt. Veeder and Howell Mt bottlings come from the high alopes. The strong black fruits apparent in the Howell is replaced by Red in the MV and both posess the teeth-staing, powerful fruits that stand out against the considerable tannins. All three bottlings are outstanding and the Affinity needs at least another 3 while the other 2 will require at least 4-5 to hit their stride. Bob is making some killer juice. HNY all. ww
As usual ole' fat-fingers made a spelling boo-boo. You've probably guessed I meant Robert Craig.
