1998 Walla Walla Vintners, Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley, $. Blueberry and bing cherry notes are pleasing to the nose. Smooth on the palate, this wine is simply packed with jammy mixed black fruit that makes you want look for the bread to spread it on. Silky tannins and enhancing American oak flavors lurk in the background.

Bucko!!!! Surely mine eyes along with many other parts are failing me. Do I see American Oak and a somewhat favorable review in the same paragraph? winoweenie

WW weed my wips. Oak in white wine = bad. A reasonable amount of oak in red wine = good.

I don't think I have ever heard them say any oak is bad, just that they don't like swallowing an entire oak forest in a sip of wine. Besides, eat salad if you want that much fiber.

$? - sample. I like a wine with layered fruit and nuances of oak in the background. I do not like oak juice with nuances of fruit somewhere in the timber. Unfortunately, the latter is becoming all too common IMHO.
