96 Joseph Phelps

I had a bottle of 1996 Pelps Cab last week, and although it would have benefited from some more cellar time, it was not so much stern as austere...the tannins were not searing, and the experience was very rewarding. This wine cost me $32 about two months ago, and now I wish I had purchased a case. (Of course, two months ago, my money was better spent on rent, groceries, Christmas gifties, and the occasional wee indulgence....)
