Aledxander Valley.
Normally $35, got two on sale for $17 each.

Nice wine! Beautiful nose of raspberry liquer, wet earth, and cedar. On the palate there's a good amount of ripe Blackberry and blueberry fruit that's full but elegant. Nothing overdone. The Blackberry leads to cloves, cedar, chocolate, and gravel. Really good in the mouth! The finish is long , but a wee bit disjointed and chalky. The tannins are pleasant, but there's enough that I'm going to give the other bottle a few more years and see if the finish doesn't blend better.
Still, a steal for $17 and not at all bad for $35.
And who woulda thought I could find 97's on the shelf?

And on sale too! I've always said check the end bins both in stores and online. Now I've got to keep checking the shelves too!

I sure as the blazes dint find these hummers in the end-bin but bought them on release for the 35 per clatter price. The nose has a touch of saddle leather, some sweet spice, and black, blue, and red fruits. Nice entry, weighty center an d a solid 4+ lapper finish. Dead at the TOIG but should hold for another 5-8. A lovely effort by Darrell G . 90/90 35 by the box. 14.2% alc. WW

I may need to find the other bottle wherever it's hiding and have a rare (for me) Cab!

Opened last nite after watching Tenny Racquet all day. Terrific nose and textbook cab flavors. Has really started to blossom. Fine effort. WW

RE: 1997 Geyser Peak Reserve
Had another last NIGHT and really paid the price. CB and I had lunch at a new Resto-Bar that specializes in Upscale Mexican food. Had to try their Margaritas which turned into 3 and whenced we returned home it dawned on me I dint have me lunch bottle yet SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO out she came. Rolleyes Have no tasting recollection whatever. Dont have the courage to smell the empty bottle so I'll wing it and say to put me in this shape that hummer had to be tasty. WW
