'99 San Telmo Cabernet

'99 San Telmo Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza Argentina

Absolutly beautiful color, dark black teeth staining purple. Nice nose of very ripe plum and currant, some herbs and a little vanilla. Very soft Cab that got too soft as it opened to the point that it was flabby. I've not experienced such a rapid transformation (1 hour). The first 1/2 hour was good for $7.99. 13.5% Alc/Vol.

DAY TWO:

Different wine today. Second half showed better acidity, chocolate and balance...strangest wine I've ever had, what goes? WS rated a 78. Personally I don't rate but for my palate a solid 87.
