I was asked to bring a wine to dinner. The dinner (as far as I know) will be turkey, a green vegetable, and garlic mashed potatoes...not sure on dessert. I hinted that I knew what to bring...but I have no idea...since I am not a professional wine drinker. I would appreciate any suggestions. By the way, dinner is Monday 3-11. Thanks

Hi beer drinker and welcome to the board. The 2 choices I'd suggest are for the white a gewurztraminer from either Alsace or the northwest and for a red any of the good Cote-du-Rhones or even the Village beaugolais. WW

BeerDrinker,

Agree with WW above. Another suggestion: lots of folks like to drink zinfandel (that's the "real" kind, i.e. purple, not white zinfandel) with their turkey. Don't know what kine of budget you're on, but the Rancho Zabaco is widely available, runs ~$10, and has been mentioned favorably on this board.
