My doctor told me to "try a little wine" for my stomach..Since I don't really drink, I am at a loss as to which wines to buy. I think I like red, dry and sweet, but don't have the money to try a bunch of wines I'm not going to like and end up pouring them down the drain....Any help or suggestions would be greatly apprecated!

Hi New, and welcome to the Wine Board. There is a modicum of evidence that pinot noir is a tad better for you than others. Might just be a good place to start anyway. Look for Ville Mt Edam, Pepperwood Grove, and BV Coastal from CA and Joseph Drouhin LaForet from France.
