Need advice from Bucko

You've mentioned Claritin in the past for those who drink red wine but have histamine sensitivity. What about Allegra or Clarinex? Any preferences among them? Any cautions?

I use Allegra 180 mg myself. I have 2-3 glasses of wine per day with no problems.

Anytime, anytime..... I ALWAYS take an Allegra before a wine judging. The histamines in red wines can sometimes overload my threshold -- keeps me open and tasting wine instead of congested and sneezing.

For some reason lately, I've been afflicted with closed up sinuses when drinking red wines. My doctor told me it's not unusual for ones body chemistry to change and things that didn't seem to have an affect all of a sudden do. He suspects it may be the result of the mild winter here in the Northeast, and the large amount of pollen in the air may have triggered a histamine sensitivity. Well, I certainly don't want that happening when I'm drinking wines, so that's the crux of the matter. I'm going to give the Allegra a try.
