I also heard that rumour, but I actually don't know if it's true..
I do know that it is a good method to sleep well at night, and that it is better than beer, whiskey or any other alcoholic drink on the market.

Yup, that's very true! :-) Red wine is really good for your health - your heart in particular. While some alcoholic beverages are generally bad for you (especially if you consume lots of it! ;-) ) red wine is something you can drink in moderation or maybe even little bit beyond moderation ;-) . Red wine has "resveratrol" that is found out to heighten "good" cholesterol levels in your body. This prevents your arteries from being damaged. it is also rich in antioxidants that helps your body flush free radicals and other unwanted bodily fluids.

RE: Red wine for health
Very nice and informative post!In according to me,Both red and white wine in moderation have some health benefits. Excess drinking of course has negative impact on the health, including damage to the liver. Some studies show that drinking wine increases the risk of breast cancer for women. If you request "Show all topics" in this thread you can read about scientific studies on wine and health.

I don't think that wine or alcoholic drinks are good for the health.
Taking the alcoholic drink with consistency can damage your liver, lung, and heart etc. and can cause various health complications.

Scientific research proves you totally wrong, Hadley. BTW, if you're against the consumption of alcoholic beverages why are you on this board?

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe.

Seriously, Janet Willson, what's your real name and where are you from? You most definitely aren't from an English speaking country, so I'm sure you're using a made up name also.
