The Nevada Personal Importation Bill has been signed by Governor Guinn, making Sen. Mike Schneider's law one of the best in the nation.

What makes it so good is thyat it was written as a "consumer right to import" law as opposed to some kind of industry compromise legislation. It's pretty straight forward...Nevada consumers can import up to 12 cases per year...from any state...no restrictions. Wineries and brand owners have to register and pay excise taxes.

Do the new regs allow wine clubs and out-of-state retailers to ship in wine?

Yes, but it's wine specific. Beer and spirits are still covered under an old law that permits importation of one gallon per month.

If you are such a merchant...e-mail me for some added insight.
