Former state senator Frank Madla died in a tragic fire at his home in San Antonio early yesterday. His mother-in-law also died, and his wife and granddaughter are in critcal condition in a local hospital. An old-school free enterprise conservative Democrat, Sen. Madla championed home delivery of wines to Texas consumers, and it's only thanks to him that we enjoy home delivery today. RIP.
