Last years Wine Tasteing & Auction held at the Old Warehouse Furniture store was a great event. Good food, Great wines, and a lot of new friends made the evening very enjoyable. Even Congressman Doc Hastings stopped by. This years event looks to be bigger and better. I believe it will be held on the 21st of April, during the Pre-Spring Barrel Tasteing weekend.

Take a break from Pre-Barrel Tasting and visit the Open House at the Rattlesnake Mountain Shooting Facility, 7 miles north of Benton City on SR 225. Come watch cowboy action shooters (guys and gals) in genuine 1800s garb exercise their marksmanship in our recreated Western frontier town, then check out the tepee village where competitors will be demonstrating various mountain man skills including muzzle loading rifles and knife and tomahawk throwing. Also see trap shooting and high power rifle shooting demonstrations and bring the kids for some plinking with club-owned .22s or bring your own. Saturday, April 21, with some events also on Friday and Sunday. http://www.tcsa.info for more information.

Be sure to include tastings at our renowned Red Mountain wineries near Benton City in your Spring Barrel weekend. You'll also want to make time to visit our Spring Opener Car & Bike Show at Ki-Be High School in Benton City, Saturday, April 28. This is the event of the year! Poker run, Show 'n Shine, arts & crafts, food, entertainment, raffles, and kids activities, 10 am-4 pm. The parade starting at 4:30 pm will take the action downtown where the American Legion and local restaurants will serve special Spring Opener dinners before the street dance kicks off at 7:00 pm. Wine tasting and beer garden available at the dance. Proceeds will go towards starting a Boys & Girls Club teen center.

Uh, FreeRein, the kids do the plinking with .22s, right? You aren't going to be plinking the kids with ammunition I hope?

Nothing like a moving target! ;-)

What kid wouldn't want a chance to make some noise, have the satisfaction of seeing a target hit, and not have be nagged with the "conventional wisdom" of the 'Christmas Story' movie ("You'll shoot your eye out, kid!")?

These folks do a great job of teaching firearms safety and their events are definitely family friendly.
