That price is a HUGE problem. I remember just a few years ago when the price was about $40 for a two day ticket. Now it's $82, and $92 if you order after Jan. 25. Also, they tack on a $2.50 handling charge per ticket. Can you imagine someone deciding at the last minute to attend and having to pay $70 for four hours? If they decide to attend the second day, that means they've spent $140. Just think of how much wine that would buy. Last year was a real zoo on Saturday. There were more people (a lot of "kids")than I've ever seen and the hall was quite hot. Not a comfortable time, at all. We've been to every BWE since the first, but I think we'll pass this year. Too bad, because we've always looked forward to the event.

It would be fun to go, but I concur on the price...here are some other things I do:

Gordon's wine in Waltham is having a 50 bottle wine tasting, 1-4 on Saturday 15th...

This is their second one this year, at their last one they had over 100 wines...and included many expensive bottles (most memorable was actually the Trimbach cru riesling believe it or not)

BLM has a free wine tasting every saturday (on commonwealth av.)Arround 8-10 wines, at least 2 over $40....free cheese.

For $25-$50 Blanchards offers great guided wine tastings in their state of the art tasting room.

BWE...not this year...

Blue,

Are you implying the riesling shouldn't be memorable? If you is, I'll have to take you off my christmas card list!
