Wine club meeting in my home for christmas. Two years aaago we did champagne and sparkling wines. Any suggestions for something special that is not like the previous eleven months of the year?
Thanks,
Alicia

I have some friends that did an icewines sampling last year around the holidays that went over pretty well. Because of price/availability, most people don't drink a lot of icewine, so trying several from Canada and Germany was a real treat for many. You could pair it with fois gras and/or blue veined cheeses, or with desserts such as peach pie.

Just my .02!

That's the time of year you'll find lots of the elixer Vintage Port at the Weeners. WW

Port and Madeira--great winter drinkers, and marvelous with holiday fare like nuts and/or many desserts, plus sharp cheeses.

I agree with the port and Madeira suggestions.
Also people could bring their own version of Gluh Wein-Glogg-or Spiced wine.
