2005 Mastroberardino Taurasi Radici
I thought I was gone be popping this one before it was ready. But this was both interesting and perhaps a bit educational? Maybe I should open up more Taurasi's earlier???

While no doubt that this is more of a masculine wine, this came across to me as quite smooth and having some finesse. It was not at all like the taurasi's of the past. Yes dark fruits, leather, pepper, spices, slight meatiness but the texture was somewhat more relaxed and smooth, almost silky? I can't believe I'm writing this about a Taurasi...my last bastation for a Masculine wine.
