2010 San Giusto a Rentennano Percarlo Toscana
Good God.

I'm rather grateful that this was a bad year in the medoc or else I'd have to look for a second job. As it is, Burgundy was not a great year but the prices have gone insane. And this year, even more so than 2004/2007, I've bought a ton of Italian 2010 wines from Tuscany and Piedmont. They are simply fab.

Anyone looking to get into wine, for smaller money (i.e. less than $100 a bottle and if you look hard enough, under $80 like this one), you can get amazing wine. This wine was vervy and bright, so full of energy, berry fruit and medium+ body. Nose was brilliant. Lovely but will need a bit of bottle time to settle down and integrate a bit. Should be on anyone's buy list for the cellar starter.

Now I have get ready for this 2012 CA Napa release season.... holy moly...
