2009 Gaja Sperss

My favorite wine today by quite a long shot

I've always liked sperss almost regardless of vintage and this ins one of those. While its nature is more deeper, larger and greater density than other Gaja wines, this one also shows the more elegant side. Tannic to be sure but suave at the same time, nose is definitely cherry, anise, spices and the palate shows a wine that is still very fresh and structured. Nice acidic zip too. Lovely and will need some time to unravel itself.
