My father found a bottle of Madeira wine in perfect condition, it's sealed and dry.
The wine vintage is 1890
It was produced by Justino Henreques Filbos
from the Island of Madeira.
Could this be worth anything?
Thanks!

Hi Bailey 2002 and welcome to the board. Please insert in your post everything that's on the label. Should have things like Sercial,or Gordon Bual, or Muscatel etc. I personally haven't heard of this producer but Maderias' are one the longest lived of all wines. WW

Here is what the label says...
Iustions Boal

Alcoholic strength by volume 19%
Origion 1870
Imported by Geeting & Fromm Inc. Chicago, IL
permit # 9-01-58

OK b2002. Again, don't know this importer, but would guess this bottle to be in the 250-275 range. You mite try calling Tinamou Wine Co at 800 388-6390. They are knowledgable in this area.

It looks like the bottle's from 1958, not 1870, so I would think it's worth a bit less than $250.

No KC this is the date the importers permit # was issued. If the label says 1870 (and the sucker 'aint no counterfit) the bugger is authentic. Call Tinamu bubber!. WW
