Off to Napa Tomorrow
I'm heading up to Napa tomorrow with Jim Wallace, who some of you will remember. Jim is up here from Verne's neck of the woods. We're off to visit a few wineries tomorrow. Planning to see Scott Harvey and a few other winemakers, plus a visit with Dick Peterson & Sandy (Dr. Richard Grant Peterson -- http://richardgrantwines.com). Jim tells me that Dick has some AMAZING sparkling Wrotham Pinot Blanc de Noir, 10 years on the lees (something like that). It runs about $800/bottle, so we may not get to taste that one. Heck--but that's ok. I love all his wine. Then we're off to spend the weekend at my place in Hidden Valley Lake, about 12 miles over the Napa County line to Lake County. It's very close to Middletown on Highway 29.
Jim is upstairs sleeping right now, but I'm sure he'd say howdy to y'all. I'll let you know what great wines we discover in our excursions.

Jackie

RE: Off to Napa Tomorrow
Had a lovely weekend. Visited with Dick Peterson and Sandy. (BTW, I was misinformed about Peterson's latest Wrotham Pinot Noir, Blanc de Noir sparkling wine... Correction: 7 years on yeast and runs about $150 a bottle.)

Also met with Scott Harvey and tasted some wonderful wines there. And also had a private tasting at Cornerstone in Yountville, including some of their Stepping Stone wines from Oregon's Wilamette Valley.

Had a nice barbecue and relaxing several days by the lake.
