Chivas Regal 12 YO, A Chivas Brother's Blend, Travel Exclusive

At first, I did not even look. It's not that I don't drink Chivas, I do but not that much. Also, this bottle, another 12 YO in a swanky box looked to be about 10 GBP higher than the standard box.

But each time you walk by the counter, another sales staff offers you a sample and over time you break down, in this case probably about after seeing it five times....

Hmmm...I like it. It's a bit sluttier than the standard bottle.. there a different type of sweetness that I like about this bottle...what is it...AHH ITS THE PEAT!!! They have peat in this mix and the smokiness simplifies the blend for me, leaving me with some fruit, bit more honey and the simple sugar that I like sometimes in a whisky. Unfortunately I'd already bought my total already. Might look to see if they sell it in other Duty free shops in other countries but at 35 GBP, its starting to get some competition to other drinks, namely JW Double Black which I like even more.

So that's the secret. The whisky has to be SLUTTIER.

The more time I spend with this bottle, the more I enjoy it. there is a good depth there in the blend, more than just the initial shock of finding peat in a chivas, there is a bit more honey, more spices and just more overall depth.
