2004 Nickel and Nickel John Sullenger
I remember this wine on release, it was a bit of a monster, but always in check somewhat. A few years in and its developed nicely into a very balanced wine, crisp, juicy, deep dark fruits for sure but impressively balanced, coffee, especially at end towards expresso more, solid attack, never quite gives in as it moves towards a nice long finish. Those looking for a bit more of a fruit bomb need to move to something else as this is starting to look more and more like a decent left banker.

Holy moly, it's been so long since anything has passed these parched lips!... Sicker than a dog.

So friend came over and I took the op to show him what I was so happy with. Same goodness here. No change.
