I have the following and would love some prices if they are available:-

1.Bot of Moet & Chandon Dry Imperial Champagne 1949 Vintage.
2. Bot Extra Quality Very Dry Renaudin Bollinger, Cerca W.W.II
3. 2 X Bots Pol Gessner Champagne, vintage 1962.
4. Half Bot of 1957 Chianti
5. Bot Castiglioni Chianti 1964.

Hi Ajay and welcome to the board. Only can give you an approx price on the Moet and Chandon 49. It would be in the neighborhood of 600 if it has had perfect provenance. The other wines are not familiar to me nor can I find anything on them. Would sure make one heck of a party to invite all your good friends, pop the corks on them suckers, and pray to Bacchus. Gents, many thanks for your replies and also your 'Welcome' to this great board..
I'm a tad confused and I hope you dont mind me trying to get a better answer or answers.. One reply says they are 'History' and undrinkable and the other tells me the Moet 49 may be in the region of 600 (USD or GBP?)?????.. all those bottles were in my late mother-in-law's attic, gifts to her husband.
There are also 3 bottles of Haig Whisky, I know this is a wine board but someone may be able to throw some light on these too, they date between 63-70, no dates on the bottles but all 3 have a wire cage and not a normal 'screw top'.
The bollinger dates between 39-45 because the label on the bottle is one 'issed' during WWII.

Even if the Chiantis were kept in prime storage conditions they would still be history. The value of the bubbly is predicated on being held in prime storage conditions. Usually folks making these kind of inquiries have acquired the wine and don't know how they have been stored. That is why I blew them off too. Now that we know they were stored in a attic, it is a moot point.

The whiskey should be fine. Somewhat cooked, but still fine. It doesn't change in the bottle as wine does. It usually doesn't change in value either.

Hi ajay agin'. The only pounds I know are the ones I acquire weekly with my lavish
( Lavosh?) ways. It's in US of A bucks and agin', the other wines are a pure crap-shoot. I'd feel far better ifn' you'd said the wines were stored in her basement. Attics get hot even in jolly ole' while the cellars are normally cool suckers. Don't think any of the wines have commercial value.....Have a Flippin' Party!!!!WW

Thanks guy's, my birth year is 49 so I was going to crack the Moet to see what it was like anyway and I agree with the 'have a party', if any of them are salvagable they can go into a 'Punch Bowl'.. [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/smile.gif[/img] Thanks again for taking time to answer gents.
